Stinks again

The wind has changed direction and the stench is coming across St Marys station again. Thankfully the train has just left so we are escaping it.

Burnt plastic!

That stink is so strong this morning. Right across the station. It's way more toxic than the other body odor smell. I have about seven minutes wait for my train and I find myself wondering just how toxic this is.

Wind direction changed

And this morning and yesterday the stench was all over the train station again. If I could do easily I'd move house so I didn't need to use St Marys station any more

Wind direction changed

The wind has changed direction at the moment - being on the station is ok but make sure your windows are up when you drive down Forrester. The wind is taking the stink straight across the road into the industrial area on the other side. If you do have your windows down don't wind them up! You'll only trap the stench in your car!

Stench and fog

Bad mix. The stench feels like it's clinging and soaking into your clothes when the weather is like this. At least I was down at the station with only a few short minutes to wait, and the smell wasn't over the platform - it was diagonal across the car park so we copped it around the lift area.

And again today

The breeze is blowing across the station today and whoever it is has started another batch of stinky brew. I was talking about to another woman in the lift. Todays conclusion is 'it's a lovely way to start the day'.

pheww

bad smell today at 10.20am, smelt like really bad BO, blowing down Glossop St.

Stinky again

Stench plus burnt plastic. The question is whether the burnt plastic is a separate problem or if the company that produces the stench uses the burnt plastic to try to cover up.

Glad I was only there for a minute

It's the only advantage of running late - you get off St Marys station very quickly! Timing is important though, running too late means having to breathe deep as you run for the train - full lungs full of stench and plastic smoke at the same time.

smell back good and strong

yesterday the stink was so bad i gaged. This is a woeful situation for people to be living in, I feel sorry for the residences that live so close to this stink.

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Yesterday

Yeah, I'm a bit slow - the station had the smell we know so well yesterday morning. This morning was clear where I was standing.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Taking the day off??

The wind is blowing from the north and that usually means the stench comes right across St Marys station. I walked almost the length of the platform, and while there's vague unpleasant odours from across the road the usual stink is missing. Enjoy while it lasts!

Monday, July 20, 2009

The wind changed direction

And this evening the station stinks of toxic burning plastic!

Monday, July 6, 2009

At the Station

I'm down here now and I can't smell anything, but the breeze is coming roughly from the south so that isn't surprising. If the smell is up today it should be across Glossopand I wouldn't have the car windows open in this weather. Sympathy to everyone who lives and works over there!

Air ok

I've been off work for a week which means not going anywhere near the station so I don't know how the smell has been. Yesterday I went back to work and the station was ok. Let's see how long it lasts.

Clear Air Today

Enjoy it while it lasts!

Stench and conversation

Got off the train and the stench caused a lot of groans and conversation amongst those of us waiting for the lift. We all agreed it wouldn't happen in a trendy suburb. Told one woman I started a blog and she suggested I put notices on the car windows. It's tempting, but I know how annoying it is for some when they come back to the car and find a note under the wipers. I don't think I can do that! Maybe I can make up cards and every time I have a conversation (nearly every time it comes across the station) I can hand them out. What do you reckon?

Stench and burnt plastic

Yesterday the stink was really bad around midday on Glossop coming across the car yard I'm told. When I came home from work in the evening the stench got into the train while it was still moving and by the tme we pulled in and the doors opened we were smothered in burnt plastic smoke. I noted one woman walking along with her scarf held over her nose - very sensible!

Up the other way

I thought it had been remarkably fresh smelling recently - but today I found the smell again. The breeze has changed direction and the smell is now running parallel to the railway line across Glossop. All it takes is driving a different way home.

Lightly off

This morning, very early, the aroma came wafting across the station to the bus stops where I was getting off the 769. Oddly strange, it wasn't as strong as usual, only lightly rotten smell. I guess they are starting a fresh batch!

Yesterday

All my troubles seemed so far away
But no, the stench hadn't gone away
Looks as though it's here to stay ...

You get the message. The pong was so strong across the concourse at the station as we came out of the lift it was enough to make me gag.

Yesterday

The smell was across the station, mixed with the burned plastic smell. Got into my jacket and stayed with me on the way to work.

Monday, May 11, 2009

I am reliably told

The stink is back today.

Another friend told me the stink was across Forrester yesterday.

I smelled it myself a few days ago, but I forgot to post about it..... I'll try to remember more often.

bye for now..

This evening

Ok, I left very early for work today, and there wasn't anything to be smelled at St Marys at 6.20am, but on the way home (after a stupidly long day) at about 5.30pm the stench was blowing across Forrester Road not far up from the car park.

I wonder how many times the smell has been there but I just haven't been in the right place to be able to report on it?

31.3.09

Stink was really strong this morning on Forrester Rd. It's so bad it makes you gasp.

Monday, March 30, 2009

Friday 27.3.09

stink was on Forrester Rd. Yuk.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Smell free and links

I was down at the station way too early, about 6.15, there's no smell around there at that hour.

I'm putting up some links on the side ... over there>>>> about the toxic effects of burnt plastic.

We live in such a fun suburb.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Stink there at 9am

Got feedback from someone that the smell was there today at around 9am

Monday, March 23, 2009

24.3.09

No stink of any kind this morning we'll see what this afternoon is like. The smell was there yesterday on Glossop St there was a burnt plastic smell but it couldn't cover it up the stink.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

No smell

No smell today! No burnt plastic and no stench! I wonder how many days this can last?

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Didn't go to the station today

I ended up on the bus to Mt Druitt instead so I can't report if the smell was there or not.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

More burnt plastic

This morning is was strong burnt plastic smell the breeze had pushed up around Forrester and Glossop. Very strong.

Weekend

I haven't been near St Marys all weekend. Went to Mt Druitt on Saturday and I worked today. I'll have to promote this blog a bit I think in order to get other people saying if the smell is back!

Friday, March 13, 2009

Nothing

No smell today either. I'm sure it will happen again soon! Stay tuned.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

For Thursday

A quick one for Thursday (actually). I couldn't smell anything, but then I was down at the station about 6.15 and I didn't go by Forrester. And it was so early.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Burnt plastic this time

And this morning it was really bad burnt plastic smell, also across Forrester near Glossop. the burnt plastic is either from a different place or it's burnt to hide the other smell. I wonder which way?

Of course, this is only possible because of our location. Would this happen at Manly?? Not on your nellie!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Yuk!

Today was particularly vile. The stench was blowing across Forrester at the intersection of Glossop and was so strong it caused caught breath and horrified groans in the car. Luckily we only had to drive through it and the station itself was free of the smell.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Oh joy

Got a txt from someone going to work this mo0rning saying they couldn't smell anything, but by the time I went past, about 12.30, it was there. The breeze was carrying the stench across Forrester Road and not the car park. Driving with the windows down meant the car was flooded with stink. No use winding the windows up by then, just needed to wait for clear air to blow it all away again.

One of the worst things about the stench is that once it starts up it gets into your clothes and hair. If you need to wait on the station for a few minutes you end up smelling it all day.

Quiet Sunday

I did finally get down to St Marys, in the evening, and as one would expect it was decidedly not smelly at that hour. Just waiting for tomorrow.

Friday, March 6, 2009

Absent

It being a busy Saturday I haven't been down to the station, and seeing as no one else has really noticed this space yet no one else is telling what's going on down there. Don't know what I'm doing tomorrow but maybe I'll get to go for a quick visit and see what's happening.

No smell again!

St Marys had another good day. Smelling much better. At least when I was there...

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Smell free!

I didn't end up in St Marys this morning, but I'm reliably told by someone else that the station was stench free today! After 3 days in a row of foul smell, sometimes mixed with other smells, maybe meant to mask it but just not managing.

Sick of the stench?

I don't know why I didn't start this months ago! I intend to keep this up until the smell is resolved.

You are all welcome to contribute updates on the stench. Just let me know.

You know the smell I'm talking about. The smell coming over the station when the breeze comes in the wrong direction. The smell that's been covered for a short while in the local papers and then all the interest went away. The smell that was officially blamed on VetLab but then they decided to fight it so nothing more has happened.

The smell was there this morning but there was a strong smoke smell along with it. I often wonder if the smoke or burning plastic aromas are meant to cover the other stench.

Every day I'm writing on this. Please tell me what you think.
